Career Counseling

Career Counseling is for anyone who wants guidance and support during their career exploration. It’s great for high school students seeking to explore career options, experienced professionals contemplating a career change, adults who want to return to the world of work after taking time to raise their child, or people seeking employment to name a few. Your satisfaction with work depends on the extent to which you find fulfilling outlets for your abilities, interests, personality traits and values. While Career Counseling is highly beneficial, we also offer a comprehensive Vocational Assessment, which offers a great deal of sophistication and depth that will aide you in making career decisions.

We can also assist those who have a physical and/or mental impairment that presents employment hurdles. The first step to providing Rehabilitation Career Counseling to individuals with disabilities is to understand the nature of the disability as it affects the individual. Our perspective is a holistic and integrated program of medical, physical, psycho-social and vocational interventions. The principal aim of this process is to empower a person to achieve a personally fulfilling, socially meaningful and functionally effective experience with the world, especially with regards to employment.

The overriding view of Rehabilitation Career Counseling is that of restoration—a way to help an individual achieve practical goals, self-dependence and personal satisfaction. Rehabilitation Career Counseling and Vocational Assessment seeks to reduce disability conditions that restrict activities or cause functional limitations and helps and individual gain the competencies needed to improve their lives.
